VOCAL SLAYAGE | NCT Dream - Go MV + Thoughts on Dream's Concept

Haechan's voice already floored me from the start. Haechan snapped. 😳😲Then Renjun.... then Chenle. Iconic vocalists! End of discussion. As if it could get better Jeno, Jaemin, and Mark had to further levitated wigs with their raps. 😵😫🔥  I haven't check out any lyrics yet but I'm sure I'll like them too. The beat went hard during the whole song so this song was beyond lit.

Even though this MV was supposed to show a more mature image they were still squishy here in some parts, especially Jisung and Haechan. 😂 On the contrary, Jaemin was all too rude in this MV. Excuse me but Jaemin was hot though.

The filming and editing style reminded me a lot of Limitless. This was basically the Dreamies' very own Limitless. 😂😂😂

I actually wanted to discuss this since We Young era so this is long overdue.

Their concept was never called a cute concept by anyone. Not by interviewers SM, or even themselves. Yes, they were cute in their releases but they always described the concept and image of NCT Dream as being a youth concept. Of course, cute and bubbly things will find their way into a "youth concept " for sure but so does this release.

I feel like for the longest time NCTzens and non-NCTzens alike have really misunderstood what Dream is supposed to be. They weren't supposed to be cute, they were supposed to be youthful. Cute, fun, and rebellious all fit in the image of youth. I think everyone just got blinded by the fluff.

*UPDATE* In a past article that I translated, even in there, youthful is used plenty of times. Cute was nowhere to be found. Mark even mentioned trying new styles in the future instead of sticking to one.

Honestly, the cuteness didn't suddenly disappear. The cuteness slowly started decreasing in MFAL era. It was a big change but not a sudden one.

Anyway, it was pretty awesome to see the Dreamies in a new light. I wonder if they'll stick with this, go back to the style they had before, or do something completely different than all of these? We'll see!
