NCT Dream with NCT U System (Rotational Unit)? No More Graduation? NCT Dream OT7? My Thoughts

As you can see by the title, it seems that NCTzens' requests have made it to the ears and minds of SM Ent. This was some news I was not expecting! For the longest time, I had mixed feelings whenever fans asked for Dream to become a fixed unit but for the most part, the idea didn't sound that great to me.

But what is being done here--I'm more satisfied with this than the standard fixed unit. SM decided that Dream is going to be a fixed rotational unit and that the members will be able to do various projects in and out of NCT Dream. This means that we can have a comeback with just singer line, one with just the rapper line, solo, any combination of members. Even though I like this idea, I still have some questions. 🤔

1. Will the youth concept remain, even without graduation?

I'm still hoping that it does somehow since the newer rookies need a chance to have their own space to show their skills and talents without being overshadowed by the older members. Since the current Dream members are not graduating from the unit, I wonder if that's even possible unless they rotate between comebacks with the first generation Dream members and second generation Dream members (which honestly would be so interesting and just unheard of). 

But if they ditch the youth concept, it wouldn't matter if first-gen and second-gen members had a comeback together, though. I, personally, still don't think that's a good idea because it's the one thing that makes Dream different from the other units now that the graduation system is gone. If they don't keep that concept or at least do something similar, then they're just NCT U 2.0. To me, that just makes this change a waste; they could just transfer to NCT U. 🙄🤷🏾‍♀️

I don't know, maybe a "stages of life" concept? 🤣🤣🤣 That would work since there will be adult members and (possibly) teenage members.

2. How will promotions work out?

This change is honestly going to confuse people even more because last time they check, there was a graduation system and now there's not. If members are coming in and going out, Dream will not have a consistent image and people are too used to their consistency to suddenly see first-gen members, second-gen members, and members that were never even in the unit promoting.💀

I can just feel the confusion and shock already. Doyoung, NCTzens, it's time to make a new diagram 😩 This is about to look a whole lot crazier...

Last but not least...

3. When will Mark and Haechan rest??

They will know of no such thing at this rate. Hopefully, they and SM find a balance between working in different units and taking breaks because they do not need to get to the point where they're unhealthy and have more chances to get injuries.

Rotating the members would give them a chance to rest but we all know that there will be times when they are promoting in Dream and 127 simultaneously. I know this isn't a new thing for them but damn. 😫😫😫
