INTERESTING BUT EXCITING | NCT 127 - Wakey Wakey MV

I've been taking forever to write a post for this MV but I finally am now that school is slowing down! Get ready to see more posts and videos from me! Anyways, onto the review...



First and foremost, Johnny's intro became the best part in less than a minute. 😂 It was so cool and unexpected. This is one of those iconic parts you'll never forget.

Jaehyun's raps aren't that common to hear in NCT songs so when they came in, it was surprising and so good! Mark's raps, as usual, slayed to the gods. 🙌

The thing I love so much about Taeil is that he manages to snap vocally no matter how NOT vocal the song is. This song is one perfect example. His parts were pure gold. One of the many reasons he's my ult... *sighs fondly*

After all the waiting and begging, we're finally hearing Yuta in a Japanese release. It needs to happen more often, forreal.


Musically, it's reminiscent of past songs. Even without seeing precixuswon's video, I was like, "This song familiar yet new" so when that video came out, it was easier to put a finger on which songs "Wakey Wakey" sounds like.
Definitely "Wake Up", with a little bit of "Chain" and "Limitless" from what I hear.


More onto the visual aspect... Every scene was beautiful! The MV overall gave me "BOSS" vibes setting-wise especially the main set where most of the choreo parts are.
The styling was on point and the choreo was just powerful and stunning! Both reminded me of "Black on Black" a bit.
Johnny's wig was a big topic of course and--my thoughts-- I think that the length itself was actually pretty good but the wig just didn't look natural. He really could pull long hair off but just not in this way...🤣🤦🏾‍♀️💀


At first listen, I didn't really feel this song but, writing this post now and listening again, it's starting to grow on me.
It's like some of NCT 127's best songs got mashed up into a hype title track and it's an interesting but exciting bop. 😉
