CONSENT KINGS | PRETTYMUCH - Up to You ft. NCT DREAM

When I first saw the teaser pic for PRETTYMUCH’s INTL:EP, I was happy but I couldn’t be any happier when I saw that Dream was going to be on one of the songs. Now that the EP and the song are out, let’s get into the review!

PROS

  • 90s sound
  • Vocals
  • Lyrics

CONS

  • No MV

First of all, I loved the fact that the song is very 90s Pop/R&B since that kind of genre and sound is one of my favorites and it’s kind of PM’s signature sound and Dream also dabbles in that genre. That was the thing that truly made this collab work so well.👌

The vocals were just superb (as expected) and I couldn’t be any more satisfied ‘cause, I mean, who would’ve thought Edwin, Zion, Haechan, and Renjun would be killin’ it on the same track? All the vocals sounded so beautiful that I wish I could get a whole NCT X PRETTYMUCH album, is that too much to ask for? 😂

The lyrics were also so perfect because they made sure to describe consensual interaction but make it sweet, lighthearted, and catchy. (For NCTzens who don’t stan yet, there’s more where that came from; thank Brandon for writing the lyrics. Y'all should really go check their music out!) Dream being on a song with that kind of topic ( ͡°  ͜ ʖ ͡° ) ain't even that surprising ‘cause a whole 119 and Drippin’ exist so it works. All in all, the lyrics were flawless.

The only thing that wasn’t flawless was the fact there is NO MV! I swear, one of them needs to hop on a plane and get it done ‘cause we need it! If it’s already made, JUST RELEASE IT! I can’t die happy without it.😂😅

Before I finish this post off, I have a question. Why did some of y'all think that 127 would be their choice but not Dream? As someone who stans of both NCT and PM, if I had to choose, Dream would fit their vibe and sound much more; 127’s sound is too heavy for them.

To me, this seems like a case of subconscious ageism. 😬👀 Tell me your thoughts in the comments! (Check the notify me box so you’ll know when I reply.)

Anyways, the boys did not let us down on this song! It is definitely going on my video for the best K-pop collabs (which, hopefully, I’ll have ready by the end of December/early January). Even though I didn’t expect it to happen, this was pretty much the dream collab that BEANZCTzens could ask for.
